Minister Uno pushes 17 creative economy subsectors to enter eCatalog

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, has encouraged 17 sub-sectors of the creative economy sector to enter the electronic catalog made by the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP) .

This is to ensure that the consumption of domestic goods made by creative economy actors can be used more by the government.

“The purchase and use of domestic products made through the electronic catalog and online store can potentially increase economic growth by up to 1.7 percent,” Uno noted in a statement on Friday.

Public procurement of goods and services must absorb up to 40% of local products from micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Uno informed President Joko Widodo that his ministry will continue to ensure that creative economy, creative industry and creative MSME players join the LKPP e-catalogue.

“This LKPP e-catalogue is the government’s only digital platform,” he noted at the Affirmation Action for National Movement for Pride of Made in Indonesia Products event at Grand Hyatt, Nusa Dua, bali.

Of these 17 creative economy sub-sectors, cooking, fashion and crafts are the three largest sub-sectors contributing 75% to gross domestic product (GDP).

“The creative economy contributes more than 1,100 trillion rupees to Indonesia’s GDP in 2020. In terms of business actors, the creative economy sector has eight million business actors,” he said. he noted.

The Digital Products and Creative Economy Subsector in the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Muhammad Neil El Himam, noted that within the 17 creative economy subsectors, there are sectors that produce tangible goods and services.

These subsectors, such as fashion, food and crafts, tend to be easier on the sourcing process, from purchasing to reporting.

“However, for sub-sectors, with intangible products or services, such as art exhibitions and photography, it is also expected that they can be included in the electronic catalog,” Himam noted.

“We hope for the support and cooperation of LKPP, so that the service industry, such as photography, can enter the electronic catalog,” he said.
