OBS October 2022 Yearling Sale Catalog Now Live – Horse Racing News

The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company October 2022 Yearling Sale catalog is now available on the OBS website at The two-day sale is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 11 and 12. Additional registrations will be accepted until September 23.

The Select Yearling Sale begins Tuesday, October 11 at 12 p.m. with Hip numbers 1-185 plus extras. The Open Yearling Sale, with 410 horses cataloged as Hip No.’s 251 – 660 plus supplements, is scheduled for Wednesday, October 12 and begins at 10 a.m.

The sale will be broadcast live via the OBS website as well as the DRF, TDN, BloodHorse and Pastthewire websites.

OBS October Yearling Sale graduates are enjoying a banner year at the races.

H&E Ranch, Inc.’s catalog cover girl, Desert Dawn, has won or placed in five graded appearances this year, including a victory in the 2nd grade Santa Anita Oaks. Cupid’s 3-year-old daughter is passed through the ring, presented by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), agent for H&E Ranch, at the OBS October 2020 Select Yearling Sale. Coached by Philip D’Amato, she is now 11-2-2-4 and has won $621,150.

Havnameltdown by Michael E. Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman, pictured on the back cover, is out of the 2021 sale. Two for Two and Graduated Stakes winner after winning the G3 Best Pal Stakes at Del Mar, Bob’s Intern Baffert has earned $168,000 to date. The Uncaptured Florida-bred 2-year-old colt is a two-time OBS graduate, first sold by agent Beth Bayer at the October 2021 yearling sale, then purchased for $200,000 from the Blas Perez Stables consignment in the spring of 2022 Sale after an Under Tack in 9 4/5.

Frank Fletcher Racing Operations, Inc. and Ten Strike Racing’s speedy Lady Rocket compiled a solid racing record, winning or placing in six stakes, including a victory in June’s G3 Chicago Stakes at Churchill Downs. The 5-year-old from Tale of the Cat, coached by Brad Cox, is now 15-7-3-2 with $707,088 in earnings. A two-time OBS graduate, she was sold by The Acorn at the October 2018 Select Yearling Sale and then purchased for $420,000 of the Meric Sales Consignment at the 2019 Spring Sale after securing an eighth Under Tack in: 10 flat.

Michael Dubb and Michael J. Caruso’s Hot Peppers had a terrific summer, winning the Belmont Jersey Girl and G3 Victory Ride Stakes followed by a second in the Saratoga G1 Test Stakes. The 3-year-old Florida-bred Khozan filly is a two-time OBS graduate, sold at the October 2020 Select Yearling Sale, then purchased for $16,000 from the De Meric Sales consignment at the June 2021 sale after having completed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Coached by Rudy Rodriguez, she is now 9-5-2-0 and won $392,950.

Kathleen O., lightly raced by Winngate Stables LLC, had her first four starts, including back-to-back wins in Gulfstream’s G2 Davona Dale and G2 Gulfstream Park Oaks. Now 5-4-0-0 for coach Shug McGaughey, she has earned $413,855 to date. A two-time OBS graduate, she was sold for $50,000 by Stuart Morris in the October 2020 Select Yearling Sale, then bought for $275,000 from the Niall Brennan Stables consignment in the sale of spring 2021 after working a quarter Under Tack in: 21 1/ 5.

Gatsas Stables, RA Hill Stable and Steven Schoenfeld’s Midnight Stroll earned the grade in the G3 Delaware Oaks in July after winning the Stonehedge Farm South Sophomore Fillies Stakes from Tampa Bay in March. Another two-time OBS graduate, she walked through the ring at the 2020 Winter Mixed Sale before being bought for $225,000 from Abbie Road Farm’s consignment at the Select Yearling Sale. October 2020. Coached by John Terranova, she is now 7-3-0-1 and has won $287,280.

The main sortable index has advanced search and filtering capability and allows the creation of restricted lists. A link to instructions for using these features is in the index header and a step-by-step tutorial is also available in the index.
